"Mustang-ing in the rain, Mustang-ing in the rain" That's how Saturday, Sept 20th began...in the rain. Even still, several dedicated RCMC members persevered and met for a caravan to the Madison Stadium. Soonafter, the rain stopped and everyone set out to re-detail their beautiful Mustangs. Why? For the second straight year, RCMC made the Bob Jones High School Drumline show a club event. Last year, we sported six cars. This year, 16 club cars lined up on two rows for what turned out to be an excellent day, both weather and show.
The cause, as stated in the title, was the BJHS Drumline, an wonderful group of young students who compete nationally. Last year, they competed and placed 8th among 50 competitors! This show is a major fundraising event for them, and RCMC was glad to help. Along with great cars from all makes/models/eras, the show featured entertainment from both the Drumline and a "rather loud" band. Also, the #20 Tony Stewart car was on display and the "world's fastest van" demonstrated its jet-powered engine to a large crowd. In all, it was a great day. Members Ralph, David, Jim, and Bill even took home trophies!
